Carney Family Newsletter for October

News From Around the World

Last day of the month and I am finally getting around to doing the newsletter....just in time for Halloween and the presidential election. I am working to get Hillary elected. Every Monday I put in a few hours making phone calls on Hillary's behalf. So by the time you read this we may already know if we have made history, if not, we are all moving across the river to Canada.
It's a rainy Sunday, so on with the news.

Music
When rock and roll was in it's infancy, we relied on the radio for new artists and all the music. The only way we knew what these performers looked like was a magazine like this. Later there was American Bandstand on TV where we could see an occasional group perform. When my kids were teens it was all MTV. Music groups broke through with their music videos and heavy rotation pretty much guaranteed their success. Now youtube is a big part of getting your music out there and John is an avid youtube watcher. He became fans of these two performers and went to Charleston to see them play. Sounds familiar...one of our family in a bar listening to live music.

News From Ohio
I had a wonderful time in Ohio. It was so good to be back in my old stomping grounds. I enjoyed time spent with Jim and Mary Ann and also visiting my Aunt Pauline, Aunt Mildred and my cousin Joan. The weather was great and the colors peak. I visited the cemeteries, Harding Park, Mill Creek Park, rode through familiar areas of Pennsylvania and Amish country. I also loved eating out every meal and was surrounded by restaurants of every kind. I also enjoyed seeing Jim and Mary Ann's newly decorated family room. It was a great trip and I have 450 photos to prove it.
