Carney Family Newsletter for January

News from the frozen tundra

There has been enough media coverage of the weather so I don't want to belabor the point except to say the by tomorrow we should be coming out of this dismal weather pattern.

I got so stir crazy that I had to get out today and luckily everything went fine (yea for remote start and seat warmers). Just had to get out of the house after 4 days of being stuck inside.
South Carolinians are complaining of 40 degree temps but let's talk to Emma in Chicago where it is so bitter that the river has frozen over and they are having "frost quakes"

Here is a picture of my garden in spring to cheer us all up and give us something to look forward to. Just booked my trip to Myrtle Beach for the last week in March and am so looking forward to the sunshine and the azaleas.
Not a lot of new for this month......I hope you all had a Happy New Year and also enjoy the Superbowl this Sunday. Let's all send prayers that New England and Brady get a tromping!

Tim's Aura
Now this is an interesting story. A person's aura tells a lot about them. It is an emanation surrounding the body of a living creature and regarded as an essential part of the individual. "emotional, mental, and spiritual levels form an energy field around the body known as the aura" and this is Tim's. Don't know what all the colors mean but the fact that they are so vivid does say that there is a lot of energy there. Tim, we need to go to the temple.

Mojave Desert
29 Palms, California....where Sean will be studying for the next four months. He's going to do the same radio work that his Dad did when he was in the corp. You can see the base sitting in the middle of nowhere.
This is Sean in the rec center with a new friend. They look pretty happy.

A Country Lane

 This was a tree....
This is the tree now......lots of firewood for the fireplace!

  TB .....John and Mary
Thinking of my Mom and Dad a lot lately. Here they are at Harding Park. I think that swing set is still there. Maybe around 1940

See you next month. Send me news and pictures and stay warm everyone!

Carney Family Newsletter for December

Out with the old.....

I am glad to see the back of 2018 and hope that 2019 will be a great year for everyone. I had the best Christmas! It was so nice having Amy, Takeshi, John and Allison here. We had a great Christmas eve with the cousins... missing Mikey and Sean though. We also had a pretty nice Christmas day meal courtesy of Uncle Bob down on the farm. Tim brought his friend Sara for dinner so it was a nice day. Just a note to thank everyone that helped with the meals, cleaning up, taking down all the xmas decorations and so on. Sorry about the two people that fell down the steps and sorry that there was no snow for Christmas.
Now, we have a lot to look forward to in 2019.....Sean going back to training, Mikey going to Italy in June, me taking my usual trip to SC in the spring and many other things. We are blessed.
