Carney Family Newsletter for August

Well, I'm just under the wire with this month's newsletter.....August 31 with 4 hours to spare!
August is my birthday month and I want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes.
I have lots of pictures this month and I am always happy when everyone is represented...almost everyone.
I hope that everyone has a great holiday weekend...of course knowing that some people do have to labor on labor day but for you lucky ones that have it off I hope you get in your last barbeque or your last swim. As for me, I'm ready to take down the flag, put away my porch furniture and plant some mums.

The First Day of Their Last Year
It's so hard to believe that Mikey and Liam have started their senior year in high school! 12 years of school done and dusted, one more to go.
I think that Mom captured the moment in this picture....little Liam's first day of kindergarten!

Carney Family Newsletter for July

Summer Days

I'm hoping for some "normal summer" weather not this sweltering heat. Still managing to get around to the Village, out to lunch and of course shopping.  I am thinking of all of you and wishing you a great last month of the summer. By now you have all heard about my tree story....my crazy neighbor having a go at my tree. She was caught on camera, police called and nasty letter sent. Still can't figure out why she is so focused on that tree. Psychiatrist in the house?

Happy Birthday to you guys!
Mike...... Sending wishes your way from all of us. Glad that you enjoyed IHop. Happy, Happy!
Sean, a very happy 20th birthday to you! I'm glad that you got to spend your birthday at home.

Home for a summer visit.....

Liam and Sarge...how cute are they?

Send me news you guys. I'm looking for a front page story! I remember when I did a hard copy newsletter with a pia program called PIP that almost gave me a nervous breakdown every month. I had to beg for pictures every month as well. Now, it is so much easier doing it online and getting news and photos text to me or I grab them from Facebook or Instagram. Emma was talking about doing a podcast. I have an idea Emma. When I kick the bucket you can take over the newsletter and do it on a podcast.....lol!
Until next month....

Carney Family Newsletter for June

......and the livin' is easy

Well, summer is here!  After a very cold and wet spring summer has arrived and I am not going to complain about the heat. We just had our Downriver Cruisin' which kicks off the summer season and July 4th is this Thursday so we are well into summertime.
As I write this, I am thinking of Emma who is moving into her new apartment today. I think about all my grandkids and wonder what they are doing right now.
On to the news.......

Happy Birthday Emma!
Wishing you all the best on your 20th birthday....hope you had cake!

It was only 10 miles
Puff,puff,puff

Gatlinburg
Tim and Sarah went to Tennessee to attend a wedding....beautiful weather and they had a great time.

Takeshi's Pet Snake
Imagine you are in your backyard pulling weeds and are confronted with a poisonous Copperhead....yikes! Snake Holes all over back there.  The snake was gone the next day. I can tell you who won't be going in that backyard anytime soon.

Waiting for Emma

PGA Golf in Detroit
Tim and Liam at the Rocket Mortgage golf classic....first PGA event in Detroit ever. Tim went with his friend Todd again on Saturday. I think he was in heaven those two days.

Just back from Italy
Mikey and friends just back after a fabulous trip to Italy. I'm waiting for pictures and hope to have them for next month's newsletter.

Smokin'

Motown Museum
I have lived in the Detroit area for many years and never visited Hitsville USA. Barb and Mary Jo and I had a great time seeing all the Motown history and studio A where all the classic songs were recorded.

Star of the Month
Takeshi is our star if the month for June. What a guy! He is kind and generous and Mr. Popularity down in the Myrtle Beach area. We never go anywhere that he isn't recognized and greeted. We are so lucky to have him in our family.

Me in my backyard.
After filling the bird feeder, hanging a new niger sock, cleaning and filling the Hummingbird feeder, cleaning and filling the birdbath, I am now ready to relax. Only my binoculars are missing....LOL.
