Goodbye Summer Again!

I said goodbye to summer last month, but it seems to be sticking around longer than necessary. Bring on the leaves!! Bring on the pumpkins!!
I have been trying in vain to see Emma swim and Liam play ball but fate seems to put up obstacles. I promise, kids, that I will get there and and have pictures to post in next month's newsletter. Also, hope to have plenty of pictures from my trip to Ohio.

Carney Family Newsletter for August

Goodbye Summer

Summer is soon over.....3 kids are back to school, the summer flowers are dusty and droopy and worst of all, the stores are selling Halloween stuff. I plan on making the most of the last week and weekend of summer by celebrating my 74th birthday (I'll think of something to do), sitting on my front porch as much as I can and getting out to Belle Isle and Greenfield Village one more time. so much to do , so little time!

In the news:
Help cure MS!
Mike is again riding the MS 150.....his 5th year, I think. If you would like to sponsor him and donate to a good cause go to:
The ride is on September 17th.......good luck Mike.

Emma is looking at collages and spent a weekend in Chicago checking a few out. I think she was impressed by DePaul so we will she what she decides.

I had Allison as my guest for 2 weeks and we had a great time. Check out pictures!

 Summer Projects

We took so many photos that I have hardly made a dent in all the editing. We did a lot of eating out and shopping (Allison bought a new camera lens) and Allison helped me out with some projects at my house....thanks Allison.

Goodbye Max
Our sincere sympathy goes out to Jim and Mary Ann who said goodbye to their dear dog, Max. I'm am certain that Max is in heaven and is a puppy again, running and playing with his new friends.

Stay cool!

I don't know how these months go by so quickly but here it is half way through July already. Very little news to report...if there is, no one is telling me about it.
Can't wait for my summer visitor coming next week. Have all kind of plans for Allison and I...just hope it will cool off a little. Neither of us like hot weather. Hoping to get Allison and Emma together to take a picture of them both to put side by side with this one.

Looking forward to the dog days and sitting in my rocker on my front porch. I decided no work for the whole month of August!

Happy Birthday to Sean
Sending all our birthday wishes to you Sean....17 years old!

and Happy Birthday to Mike
and birthday wishes to Mike (no mention here of  his age as it just ages me....geez, I was just a kid when he was born)

Just Hanging out

Guns n' Roses Concert
Mike and friends at major concert event. he was surprised at how well behaved the crowd was...ya, they were all too old and tired to cause trouble....just kidding guys. Look at that hair....yours looks great Mike.

My Photos on Exhibit
Had the opportunity to hang my photos with my photograph group at the Downriver Council for the Arts. Had fun at the reception. Photos will be on display until the end of the month.

Car Show in Kansas

Don't understand the gun but of course the guys are very interested.

Pokemon Go

John is in hog heaven playing Pokemon Go. I really don't understand the game other then it uses GPS to locate all the characters. I know that there has been tons of media coverage and a lot of adults complaining (of course). Anyway, John has been big time into Pokemon since he was a little child collecting everything out there related to it. He even went so far to give up his beloved flip phone and get an iphone so he could get the app. Have a fun summer John.

Heart Broken
This picture of a House Finch was taken this spring at the Nature Center at Huntington Beach State Park. Just found out this morning that the Nature Center burnt to the ground last night. Animals that were on display inside all died as well. It is so sad....... I really hope that the state will provide funds to rebuild.
