Carney Family Newsletter for March

Welcome everyone to our March family newsletter! Spring is in the air and it's now time for me to fly away to the south where the temperatures are balmy and the daffodils are in bloom. Will post on this site occasionally while I'm away.
We've had some goings on this month so read on

The Southeast Michigan Photography Group sponsored a tour of the Masonic Temple in Detroit. I really enjoyed the beautiful old building but also loved the views out the windows. This is a picture of the new Red Wing arena being built. You can also see in the photo Ford Field and Comerica park. (Too bad the windows were so dirty.) Yikes, all within parking distance of each other. Wished that I owned a piece of property down there. Can you see the two houses in the front of the picture? I hear that they are worth about one million each!

Happy Birthday Takeshi
Came across this great picture from 2001.....you have hardly change since then Takeshi. Wishing you a great birthday from all of us.

Choo Choo
Mike and Twin traveled to St. Louis for a concert this month and they traveled  by train. Below is the classy hotel that they stayed in. It sounds like a great time.

Allison Enters Art piece in Youth Art Show

The photo hanging in the exhibit had too much glare to make out so above is a copy for you to see.
Entitled "Daydreamer"

Great job Allison...keep on exhibiting your work!

Glow Rage Paint Party
I hope all this washed off!

Oh No!
The Nazi are coming......beware they are disguised as The Donald
(nice work Mike)

Emma's School Play
Emma performed in her 4th high school play. In "Oliver" she played two parts...a Londoner and and a bawdy girl hanging out at a tavern.

Just saw the Athen's school play and it was fabulous. So much talent....amazing! All the above photos I got off of the school website and the pictures below were taken by me at the performance.
Great job Emma!

See ya'll next month

Carney Family Newsletter for February

Is Winter over yet?

As everyone knows, I am recovering from surgery that I had one month ago today. The going seems slow and it being winter doesn't help. Feeling pretty isolated right now. Thank you everyone for all your support especially to Amy and Tim who helped me out when I was in the worst shape. Hopefully it will be all uphill from here.
This newsletter is a short one and I hopefully will gather more news for March.
Will be on my way to South Carolina on March 24th. Can't wait to be able to get out and walk in the sunshine.

Happy Birthday

A very Happy 20th birthday to John.

Also a Happy 20th birthday to Twin as well!

We are sending good wishes your way!

Liam goes to Washington

Liam took these great pictures while on his school trip to Washington DC. I think that we have
another photographer in the family.

Liam's group in front of the Martin Luther King monument...he 5th from the right with the green hood on. They all look pretty cold.

Artists in the Family

Military Diorama

Mike's new hobby is building military figures and armaments. He builds and paints them and then makes a diorama. I would love to photograph them with a macro lens...they looks so real.
A meticulous process using a lot of military history and details.

Experiments in Photography

Allison has been experimenting with different cameras and techniques to create some great photos
Pictures of Allison's friend taken with a digital Polaroid. I love the retro look.
This was taken with a macro extender on her wide angle lens on her SLR.

Young Creator and Entrepreneur

Mikey and his friend have designed a tee shirt which they have for sale on redbubble.com
This is just a start of a 14 year old's budding career

 A Talent for Drama

Emma is in the school play again and showing her talent for acting, singing and dance. She is rehearsing for this spring's play "Oliver"    Good luck Emma!
